What is Aerial Yoga?
Aerial Yoga is a type of yoga which uses a hammock suspended from the ceiling allowing students to perform postures that they may not ordinarily be able to attempt on the yoga mat. With your body weight being partially or fully supported by the hammock, students are able to expand their flexibility allowing for you to explore new and traditional asanas.
What are the benefits of Aerial Yoga?
Aerial Yoga has all the benefits of a traditional yoga class. It is a complete mind-body workout, due to the nature of aerial yoga movements, almost all the body parts are working to move and stretch. Muscles are toned and redefined, and joints are regenerated and strengthened due to these movements.
Do I need prior experience to take an Aerial Yoga Class?
No. Our Aerial Yoga Open Level classes are for all levels and beginner friendly.
Who is an Aerial Yoga class NOT recommended for?
Aerial Yoga is not recommended for individuals who have high blood pressure, heart disease, cataracts, recent surgery, motion sickness, severe arthritis, recent stroke, spinal injuries, women who are pregnant, or anyone for whom hanging upside-down could cause medical complications or discomfort. Please seek medical advice if you are unsure if this class is right for you.
What should I wear to an Aerial Yoga Class?
Shirts with sleeves that cover armpits- NO TANK TOPS PLEASE. No Jewelry, hair clips, clothing with zippers, buttons, or anything that can get caught in the hammock. Please no lotion, oil or perfumes.
What should I bring to an Aerial Yoga Class?
At this time, for health and safety reasons the studio will not be providing aerial hammocks. If you would like to attend an aerial class or private class, students must have their own hammock setups. To purchase and more information please email
Aerial Yoga Class Descriptions
Our Aerial Yoga class is designed for all levels. With your body weight being partially or fully supported by the hammock, students are able to expand their flexibility allowing for you to explore new and traditional asanas. This class is a complete mind-body workout. Focusing on movement integrating breath, awareness, and alignment you will build strength, focus, flexibility, and balance.
Aerial Yoga Open Level
In our beginner Aerial class students will have the opportunity to learn about the health benefits of practicing aerial yoga, how to use an aerial hammock, and how to perform yoga postures with the gentle support of the fabric. This class is great for students who have never taken an aerial yoga class and are interested in experiencing something new in a friendly & safe environment or for experienced aerial students looking to move at a slower pace and focus on alignment.
Beginner Aerial Yoga
Students are REQUIRED to sign up for class via MindBody prior to arriving at the studio. All payments are to be processed online thru Mind Body prior to arriving. No “walk ins” will be permitted. If you register for a class and then cannot make it, please text or call the studio (732-970-7500) to cancel your spot no later than 4 hours before class start time. Any no shows or late cancellations after the 4 hour window will be charged for the class they are registered for. Unlimited members will be charged $15 for non cancellations.
